Quality of Work Life and its Factors among Nurses in Moh Hospitals in Najran Region

Abstract
The nursing profession is facing numerous challenges and these challenges are causing major hurdles in the development of nursing. Quality of nursing work Life is a comprehensive and wide program designated to improve employee satisfaction, strengthening workplace learning and helping employees to manage change and transition. To have an employee‟s satisfaction, to attract and retain the employee in an organization, quality of work-life is essential. The purpose of the study was to assess the quality of work-life and its factors among nurses working at the Ministry of Health Hospitals in the Najran region Saudi Arabia. Methods: A descriptive research designs namely a cross-sectional survey. The samples were selected through a multistage stratified random sampling technique. The hospitals were allocated randomly into rural and urban. The estimated sample size was 592 and it was made the sample size to be 600 and it was planned to select 600/10=60 nurses from the selected hospitals and from each hospital,60 nurses were selected randomly from the listof nurses working at each department. The tool used for the study was Brooks& Andersons and demographic questionnaire data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Results: The findings suggested that a majority of 68% of the respondents were satisfied with the quality of work-life dimensions like work environment, work-life and work world, and 48% were dissatisfied with the work design and work context dimension. Conclusion: Nursing is a unique profession that faces the various challenges in day to day practice so it is an important need to focus on their quality of life to improve their work environment. Nursing administrators should assist the development of effective strategies to improve their quality of work-life to perform better quality care to the patients.
